In the Summer 2023 edition of Quality World, we celebrate the winners of the annual CQI International Quality Awards, and take a look at the new The Profession Map and examine what it means for the profession. There are two articles on how quality can further the environment, social and governance agenda, with an interview with Martin Baxter of IEMA, and a look at the key role that quality professionals have to play in implementing a circular economy.

In the Autumn 2023 edition of Quality World, Rashad Issa, new Chair of the CQI Board of Trustees, discusses his ambitions for the role, while members of the CQI Sustainability special interest group reflect on key findings of a member survey. We have two features on how quality professionals can maintain a competitive advantage, and also look at how quality professionals can incorporate emerging technologies in their roles. We examine the definition of quality in a contract, and the impact of unconscious bias on the development of DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging).

In this Winter 2023 edition of Quality World, we look at how global governments are regulating artificial intelligence. The subject of perceived quality is examined, as is the use of effective communication within an organisation, and the key role of leadership. Patrick Mongillon, President of the European Organization for Quality, gives his thoughts on the challenges facing quality in Europe, and Dalvinder Singh PCQI explains how Balfour Beatty implemented a 'right first time' approach. Quality World Spring 2022 focuses on risk. How do organisations prepare for risk, and how can quality professionals ensure that there is a plan in place for the unexpected? Removing risk is also at the heart of the work of the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) Council, as its Director General Hanane Taidi explains. There's a look at how blockchain technology can be used to further organisations’ environmental, social and governance agendas. We examine how digital transformation is affecting the future of quality management practice.

Quality World Summer 2022 looks at the results of the CQI’s Workforce Insight survey. Followed up with interviews and focus groups, the in-depth research gives us a bigger picture of how quality and audit professionals view their own careers, their route into the profession and how their roles are viewed by others. QW also speaks to those embracing tech disruption and learn how quality can support new tech implementation. And there is a look at trials of four-day weeks and what organisations need to consider before reducing working hours without cutting pay.

In this issue, Quality World examines the excellence model that enables government and leadership bodies to monitor the development of a country. We examine how a fabric mill’s commitment to sustainability led them to win the Sustainability Impact award at this year’s International Quality Awards. And an IRCA auditor and AI expert outlines what quality professionals and auditors need to know to prepare for changes in AI.

In this issue, Quality World heads into orbit, and finds out how quality standards are addressing the growing problem of space debris. Members of several of the CQI’s special interest groups discuss the challenges faced this year and what 2023 could have in store. We meet the CEO of a whistleblowing charity and discusses how whistleblowing can help quality professionals to highlight wrongdoing.

The Spring 2021 issue of Quality World focuses on resilience, with articles on critical thinking, risk, intelligent decision-making and business continuity in the age of Covid-19, to help you to support your organisation through the ‘new normal’.

Quality 4.0 has the potential to be a significant driver of change, but there has been no a clear, unified definition until the CQI’s research project, which we share in this edition of Quality World. Also in this edition, we look at artificial intelligence, corporate social responsibility, Covid-19 and share an overview of the changes to Annex SL.

Sustainability is a priority theme for the quality profession and it is explored throughout this issue of Quality World. The new Chair of the CQl's Board of Trustees, Amanda McKay, explains how a 'right first time' attitude and a commitment to diversity can underpin sustainability. There is an insight into the concept of Macro-Quality and how it can be used to understand the interconnectivity of our lives and the world around us, placing quality at the centre of how we can meet sustainability targets. Digitally enabled assurance will be key to understanding the many risks facing humanity now and in future, and in meeting our commitments to sustainability.
