Psychology and leadership for quality professionals

Session outline:

Psychology is relevant to many areas of quality management, including process design, communication and leadership. Quality professionals may not have the direct authority of a manager, and so must become skillful in leadership, which implies a deeper understanding of human psychology.

This webinar highlights the scope of the many practical benefits of psychology for the Quality Professional, then focuses on the 'Leadership' aspect of the CQI’s Profession Map and the difficult role of being the ‘Quality Conscience’. The session introduces some key principles which provide a foundation for achieving the following tier 2 competencies:

  • You champion quality within your team and functional areas, making quality goals meaningful and relevant to others in your network.
  • You advocate for the interests of customers and stakeholders and encourage others to do so.
  • You participate in and promote improvement and change.
