This session from the CQI Healthcare Network explores current challenges in quality and patient safety across the NHS. Dr Tom Rose outlines his research on identifying and improving high-risk processes in Trusts and General Practice, focusing on four key workstreams:
- The current state of quality and patient safety across the NHS, including the influence of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI)
- Mapping core processes within NHS Trusts and General Practice
- Rationalising these processes to reduce complexity and variation
- Identifying the processes most vulnerable to error and risk
