Climate change and how to address it through international standards

Session outline:

In this webinar, the Wales Network discovers how recent changes to global management system standards are creating new opportunities for climate action. In 2021, Annex SL – the high-level structure that underpins all major ISO standards – was updated to include a critical new requirement: “The organisation shall determine if climate change is a relevant issue.”

This update affects all businesses certified to ISO standards aligned with Annex SL, including:

  • ISO 9001 – Quality Management
  • ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
  • ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety

What does this mean in practice? This webinar explores the implications of this change, focusing on key clauses:

  • 4.1 – Understanding the organisation and its context
  • 4.2 – Understanding the needs and expectations of interested parties
  • 6.1 – Actions to address risks and opportunities
